Can someone answer what the main differences are between the 3D and non 3D versions of these CPUs.

I was looking at the 7900X or 7900X3D.

If going x3d then the 7800x3d is the one to choose for flat out gaming.

3D versions mean it has more L3 cache. While this might sound good, it doesn't actually do much to improve performance except in gaming or other applications that work better with shorter latency (which I can't think of off the top of my head). In addition, the CPUs are clocked slightly slower and you shouldn't really overclock them.
