AMD Sempron 1.8ghz for Intel Celeron 2.66ghz?

Hello,
I have a tower with 1.8ghz AMD Sempron 3100 and i wanted to swap out the cpu's for 2.66ghz Intel celeron d. Do you think thats possible?

if you also change the mobo then yes, but the sempron is still faster than the celeron so i suggest you stay with the sempron. despite its lower frequency, the sempron have higher performance / MHz, and draw less power too.

the number 3100 is marketing from amd to indicate its intel equivalent frequency (netburst architecture), so you can estimate that sempron 3100 is as good as 3 ghz celeron d
