Amd to intel

Looking to switch my current amd setup to an intel, Only game I really play are arma games which are single threaded applications. I have an 8350 with a fatal1ty 990fx motherboard. Looking for any suggestions what the best combo would be for me to switch to?

How much do you want to spend?
Do you want to overclock?

Even Intel fans will tell you that's not a economic switch. Sure, you'll see a performance bump in single-threaded games, but definitely not enough to justify a cpu/motherboard cost to switch. You should easily be able to overclock that chip to 4.6ghz+ with decent cooling. Have you tried that?

I agree that unless you wanted to sell your entire system and start over, or you could sell your cpu + mobo for a good price, I wouldn't bother switching.

8 gb kingston ram

You've got a good system. You should just learn more about overclocking. You could look online and see what used FX8350s and 990FX motherboards sell for, and that would give you a good idea on what you could get.
