Question AMD to NVIDIA switch

I was having issues with my AMD graphics card drivers, and after trying nearly everything I have found on the internet I was just going to get a new Nvidia card because I hear they are better anyways. The issue I had was that after I installed drivers and restarted my pc, the spinning dots would freeze indefinitely making me go safe mode and delete the drivers. If I were to get a new Nvidia card would I just be able to plug it in and have it work just fine or would I need to replace any other parts for compatibility?

Did you use DDU to uninstall your previous GPU's drivers prior to removing the GPU from the system while the system is powered down and disconnected from the wall? If not, that's what you need to do. On second thoughts, please include/list your specs like so:
CPU:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
GPU:
PSU:
OS:

I haven’t ordered a new card yet, I’m just asking this ahead of time so I don’t receive it and then need to get any other things. My specs are:
CPU- Ryzen 5 2600 6 core
GPU- XFX Radeon RX 5600 XT
Mobo- MSI B450 Tomahawk max
PSU- Corsair TX-M series TX550M
RAM- G.SKILL Ripjaws V 16gb (8x2)
SSD- WD blue 3D NAND 500gb

the gpu I am looking into is a GTX 1660 Super
