These are new models in the Z2 family that AMD announced today.

The sad thing is that even with the additional power even the Ally X may be slower than the Steam Deck just due to the underlying software, but if they can put it on shelves for, say, $499, especially since it's an IPS and not OLED screen (a huge plus to me), or even $450, especially since it will come with XBOX Game Pass (for a while at least)...an extra $150 in a portable monitor, USB hub, and keyboard/mouse...Meh, that's a dream I think, it'll probably be $599 and earn the TomsHardware "Don't buy until it costs $499" award.

Obviously, the NPU is already on the Strix Point die used in these handheld SKUs. Has anyone proven it can be useful for gaming? Microsoft showed off AutoSR upscaling only on Qualcomm Snapdragon X, using the NPU. But none of the mainstream upscaling options can use an NPU as far as I know.

Mendocino devices (similar die with 1/4 the graphics) should be coming free in cereal boxes.
