Hi, I hope you are well, I have a Satellite C655D-SP5024L that has been with me for some years, it has been an excellent team!

These days I'm doing an upgrade, I changed the disk to one of SSD and it increases the memory to 8 Gigas. Now I want to change your CPUs. I have some alternatives and I would like you to give me a hand. According to this link

http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/AMD/V_Series_for_Notebook_PCs/V140.html

It gives me some alternatives, I have thought about:

AMD Phenom II N660 35W
AMD Phenom II P960 25W
AMD Phenom II X640 45W

The processor that it has currently is an AMD V Series V140 25W Socket is
S1 (S1g4)

I hope you can help me in my consultation.

Thank you

I think that site only looks to see if the socket matches when listing which CPUs will work. Any CPU upgrade will also require BIOS support, and I have no idea which (if any) CPU upgrades would be supported.

Just based on that list, I would stick to 25W CPUs, and get the fastest clocked one. So something like the Phenom II P650. Keep in mind any of those CPUs are incredibly slow by todays standards.
