Hey
So the vega 56 graphics card has launched today and I was considering buying one instead of gtx 1070, I was wondering firstly if this is a good decision. And secondly I was looking on scan.co.uk at the options and there are standalone cards then branded ones which are roughly £100 more expensive what is the difference in these cards.

Thanks Guys

Try Aorus 1070. I've had Gigabyte cards for the last 3 generations and the last one, the AORUS is amazing. It barely runs my fans at 50% while playing Witcher 3 4K it's the coolest and most silent GPU I've seen. Just see that you have space in your case for it, cause it's pretty big.
Vega 56 performs similarly to EVGA's 1070 SC. Vega 56 also performs roughly 10-15% better on average than a Founder's Edition 1070. There are likely some better AIB 1070s that perform cooler and at a lower power draw than a Vega 56, but who knows what the price of those ends up being.

Vega 56 is certainly the better of the two Vega cards. Since there are no founder's edition 1070s available, however, an after market 1070 is likely on par in terms of performance with Vega 56, which means you should buy a 1070 since it will run cooler at a lower power draw.

Considering how much it took them to release a poor and bad GPU and their politics in forcing you to get 3 useless games also at full price, I'd go for a good aftermarket 1070 with better overclock capabilities and tested performance for a year. Than a GPU that they claim will be "at one point, better, because of some <mod edit> drivers". If you delay release for over a year and it's still not optimized and good, then I wouldn't trust them.

The last "good" AMD card was the Fury that didn't even have OC possibilities over the reference card. So I wouldn't put my money on the hopes of fanboys that kept saying the Vega will [watch your language] 1080ti.

thanks for all the responses, looks like a 1070 is the better option. I don't want to spend more than just over 400 pounds on it and saw i could get a gigabyte windforce or asus turbo are these good cards or not

thanks
