Hi there. I'm trying to build a budget gaming computer at about $750 (includes OS and monitor) to game at 1080p. I've been told that at this budget, AMD is my best bet. I don't like to overclock, and I want to upgrade to a better processor in the future. Right now I'm playing Warframe and Minecraft, but will be playing more advanced things in the future. I'd like to know your thoughts about AMD vs Intel at this price point, or if you're up for it, make a build. I already have a HDD. Thanks in advance!

For a budget build, AMD is much cheaper in costs, however if you plan on upgrading the CPU later; you are pretty limited in choice. Whereas an Intel, you could always move up to an i5 or i7 at a later date, so you can improve your performance by quite a significant margin whilst the costs for those CPU's are reduced.

Personally I'd get an Intel motherboard, and place in an Intel Xeon E3-1230 v2; which provides a similar performance to an Intel i7, but for the fraction of the cost (~£160 GBP).

All the best. :)

The 270 is a nice card, but about $50 more than the 750ti I linked, which is a highly overclocked model. The 270 is better, but I don't think it is $50 better than that particular card.

The i3 4130 is not weak.

The FX-6300 is a very capable CPU that will run any games on the market avery well, the graphics card is a r9 270x wich is a good card to game at 1080p... this system run's even the most recent modern games very well like battlefield 4 or crysis 3 for example and will continue to do so in the futrure and it's right at your price, for the money you can't beat this system.

Crysis 3 and BF4 CPU benchmarks (see this CPU is pretty much as good as a core i5 in modern multi-threaded games)
