Currently I have an FX-6300 with ASUS M5A99FX PRO R2.0, ASUS 7850 2GB, G Skill 1866 DDR3 Ram, WD Blue 1TB and OCZ 650 PSU.

My question is would be if it is worth upgrading to better CPU like FX-8370 or sell my Mobo + CPU for i5-4790K, ASUS Z97-A LGA 1150 Intel with GTX 960?

Any suggestions welcome just can't decide yet so I'm asking my tech friends :)

Also I'm looking for more future proof can't be upgrading for ever 2-3 years anymore..

6300 and 7850 should run those games at medium settings

the i5 (i7?) and a gtx960 should run the games at high or ultra.

Depends on your current build and budget.

If you get as good parts as you can now then in 3 years time you'll still want to upgrade. No matter what your budget is.

+1 better CPU that will run the games and much better GPU that will last you longer than a 960

I don't think its that clear cut. From what I've seen, the FX8350 will be ahead in BF4, FC3 etc - multithreaded games - if the FX8350 is OC'd.

Then its not by much - maybe 5 fps max. Especially if you have say an OC'd i5 4690k.

The i5 however will race ahead in limited core oriented games.

Sort of.
but not quite .
Adding cpu horse power makes no difference in games like BF4 . Adding core count can .

and in those games where only a couple of threads are used then the FX is usually good enough . Monitors refresh at 60 Hz . If a CPU runs the game at 60 Hz it appears identical to the user as a cpu that makes 150 Hz . The intel is almost never an advantage even though it can make higher frame rates in those older game engines .

What will make the difference is having the stronger GTX 970 graphics card , and the way afford that is to stay with the AMD processor

My Resolution would be at 1920x1080 (16:9). And I'm thinking of just upgrading my CPU and GPU stay with AMD..

For CPU, I was thinking of 8370E or 8320E, I would prefer TDP of 95 watts.

For GPU, I was thinking of R9 280, what you guys think?
