AMD vs Intel I5

This is my first post here. Keen on hearing from the techies!

I am planning to buy a laptop and my uses are as follows;
1) Adobe photoshop CS6 (Occasional use)
2) Windows-7 Movie Maker (Mostly used)
3) Camstasia (Frequently used)
4) Occasional online games like CS 1.6, fifa 07.

I had an Acer E1-571 with i5 processor and it worked like a charm. I thought that i5 was actually overpowered than my needs.

Please suggest the processor and its equivalent in AMD as per my use.

If you're only using simple video rendering applications, then cpu chips of the same tier will not have a significant difference.

Improve on your RAM, that would be the next step if you want to upgrade.

It'd be nice if you could afford an i7 - better for video etc.
From AMD, you'd probably want to go with a FX-8320

I have another old desktop. A Core2duo 160GB and 1GB RAM. Since i installed windows 7, the movie maker has struggled a lot. I plugged in 4GB Pendrive to use it as a RAM. And the performance improved. May be i'll give it a try with a 16GB RAM and then opt for one.

I am opting for a laptop.
Actually i have an Acer E1-571 which does the job quite good but it wont be available to me for some reason.
The specs are; 4gb ram, 500 hdd, i5 3rd gen. Price 31500/- INR

So i am looking for something in same range. An AMD would also do.
