AMD + Win2k = Crash

I've been hearing of people saying that the Athlon has problems with win2k, but I was wondering if it extends to all AMD's I have a K6-2 500 and win2k spontaneously reboots. It's not an overheating problem and I've been trying many configurations of hardware with all updated bios's and drivers. I've basically tried everything I can think of to solve hardware problems. But the computer just likes to reboot itself every now and then. Does win2000 not like AMD?

Win2k and my tbird get along just fine. Up for 8 days now. Have you tried it with only the video card?

Same thing here, WinME and tbird on KT7 reboots when I click something when something is running, say installing Office and right clicked My Computer to explore. Whoops, whata ..., well, try again.
Had the same thing with the classic and K7M in the beginning, then it stabilized for some reason and ran for more than a year without any self "reboots".
Never had problems with Pentiums though, so go figure... sigh

I run win 2k on an old amd 700 and 750 chipset and it NEVER goes down unless I tell it to. I leave it on for weeks at a time. I would check your drivers. I bought an ati rage pro card and all i could d-load was beta drivers and it looks like crap in 3d programs. At least it doesn't crash.
