My computer will be used for gaming and computer graphics.

I have a Ryzen 9 3900x, RTX 2070 Asus Strix OC

Games: Division 2, Rainbow Six, World of Warcraft, Diablo 3... (possibly Ghost Recon Breakpoint) @ 2,560 x 1,440 Ultra Settings
3D Software: SideFX Houdini, Photoshop, TopazLabs, NUKE, Maya, Mudbox/ZBrush, Terragen, World Machine, Speedtree
  • What I will mainly be doing in these software are modelling, sculpting, texturing, UVing, instancing, lighting and rendering with GPU Card and compositing.
Should I use the Corsair H100i v2 (I already have) or use the AMD Ryzen 9 3900x Wraith Prism Stock Cooler?

Thank you!

I had the AMD Wraith Prism on my 3900X... The CPU kept hitting 95+ degrees when loaded. After buying a Corsair H115i RGB Platinum, the temps dropped to 40 degrees on idle and 85-90 degrees under load...

If you do buy another Corsair, do not replace the thermal paste... The stock thermal paste was cooler than the Kryonaut by a couple of degrees...

Hey Jon,
Actually, I don't mind my Wraith Prism... it is true it get loud... but I think I've gotten use to it now...
What do you mean by "under load" like just playing a game or something heavier?
