I'm looking at a x370 board for a build. First, I liked the extra ports/slots/etc. Also, because you can buy them with PCI (classic) slots.

Have any manufacturer's updated their boards with BIOS that supports 2nd gen Ryzen? Heck, will they eventually work with the new 3rd gen Ryzen?

Thanks. That's what I thought. I like the idea of the gains from the X series chipset. If the x370 isn't worth it, unless I go with the X470, the money I save would pretty much cover the cost of me replacing the PCI card with a newer PCIe version.

Most equipment that used pci has already transitioned to pci-e or Sata, simply because of the afforded bandwidth, which allows for greater transmission speeds. Many B450/x470 will still retain at least one pci slot, mostly for older add-in cards like sound cards or USB2 ports where high bandwidth capabilities aren't as important.
