Amdkmdap stopped responding and has succesfully recovered

ok when i play games like mass effect 2 and battlefield bad company 2 the game just freezes and then comes back on.when i quit the game.the desktop notifies me saying amdkmdap display driver has crashed and succesffully recovered...is this cos my card is overheating.i have a 4870 card.amd phenom quad core

no I have same problem on an HD3870 ....and them was about 50C ...I have seen the HD3870 way above 70C .....

Hey i just uninstalled my catalyst drivers and it works fine.catalyst is stupid

Had that a few times with serious sam hd ....many post on that ......also on nvidia GPUs ....I have hd3870
Many theories on this ...some say it is an OS issue ....at one point ATI said they had fixed this but not sure.

Let me know if you find a definite fix pls.
