AMD'S 5870 Lightning Question

Got my hands on few months used gpu from title. It runs games as LoL 1080p on 250fps. Very...decent card. But, i wonder what does led light indicate on pcb? Is it some design related thing or a actual indicator? What does it show? Couldn't find it on webz. Thank you!

msi lightning R5870 has a series of twelve LEDs on the rear of the card showing active vGPU power phases:

Can u be more specific, they should light up as half red, half green? Does it indicate some failure and how? Thanks for the answer!

no failure-- the more power the gpu is drawing the more they light up i would imagine
