I have been using that program for awhile and love it. Sure Ryzen 3000 doesn't really offer overclocking headroom beyond PBO+Auto OC option that Amd gave us but one should just spend that time optimizing their memory. Currently at 3600mhz safe settings and i gained 1000 points in geek bench and like 60 points in R15 just shy of 199 in the single core score due to the boosting bug.

Yes there is 3rd Gen = Zen 2:

Improved compatibility with older operating systems (.NET Framework 4.6.1 and Runtime Libraries are required).
Improved support for low resolution monitors.
Improved timing calculation when using the Manual profile (as it used to be called Debug).
Due to numerous requests, the algorithm is partially used from version 1.0.0 beta 3 + significant improvements.
Changed the frequency limit for Samsung b-die and Hynix CJR. Samsung b-die has no restrictions for the Manual profile.
MEMbench сalibrations for 3900X and 3950X.

Added full support for Zen 2 and X570 motherboards.
Added recommendations for VDDG and FCLK for Zen 2.
Added recommendations for Vref (CHA / CHB).

Fixed a lack of presets for X399.
Fixed a rare error in which it was impossible to calculate the timings.
Added a button to access the Internet overclocking statistics generation Zen 2.
For users of Intel systems in the "Additional Calculators" section, it is possible to calculate tREFI and RTL IO-L.
Added 2 new latency tests for MEMbench.
Custom latency is a memory access test that the processor cannot predict (using a specific offset).
Random latency - the average time is measured for random memory accesses in a buffer of a certain size. Partially affects the result of TLB.
Both tests are release candidates, but I do not deny that there will be calibrations.
Custom latency and Random latency are included in the Easy and Default packages. Please note that during testing, the program will open / close the prompt itself (you do not need to deal with it).
Added information about the processor's L3 cache size. Also, the size of the test blocks for latency tests is controlled relative to it.
Added button Clear standby. It is used to clean cached memory by the operating system. Didn't the test run? - Click Clear standby.
Max RAM button better determines the amount of free memory available for testing. Useful for checking memory for errors.
There are exceptions for many functions.
Fault tolerance of the program increased.

You need to choose Ryzen 2 Gen for 3000 series CPUs.
In the DRAM Calculator:
1000 series CPUs are Ryzen 1 Gen
2000 series CPUs are Zen +
3000 series CPUs are Ryzen 2 Gen

His naming scheme is confusing But it is probably due to the fact that his native language is Russian not English.

I'm pretty sure they will say Ryzen 3000 Ready.
My Asus ROG Strix B450-F says AMD Ryzen 2000 ready on the box.

I'd say you would be 100% fine doing that but make sure they have the "Ryzen 3000 series ready" correct sticker.

If not Amd will provide you a bootkit with a temporary CPU to update the bios.


MSI is already releasing Amd 3000 ready b450 boards. I'm running on X370 and its been perfect since the latest bios.............besides not being able to hit 4.4ghz on my 3700x but that is a issue with all boards

Not sure what ya meant there. Im not doing anything 😊 Was just pondering the idea how zen2 would most likely be represented on motherboard ready boxes and that there'd be a lot of people unaware what a zen is.

Most likely the sticker on the box would say ryzen 3000 ready not zen 2 ready

I have a question. At one point there was a ryzen 3 3300x listed with specs but it was never launched or at least not yet. Is this chip coming out or was it leaked out by mistake and scrapped?

Much like the 1400 and 1500 exist alongside the 2200G and 2400G.

It's just a choice of "no graphics" vs "onboard graphics". Thermal budgets and a bit of extra L3 cache.

I understand their capabilities, what was the proposed price? If it is too expensive it won't sell compared to cheaper Ryzen 2000 CPUs. Or they are earmarked for OEMs or something.

The old Forbes article has it at $129, same as the 3200G. Current street price is $100... 2200G is $80, and the R3 1200 is sitting at $60.

I can't see shoving another SKU in there and expecting it to sell.
