Every 990FX board wiould have to be redesigned to handle the power requirements. They'd be 250W processors

you would lose the headroom to overclock, but come on... how much power does an 8350 use at 4.8 ghz. If it isn't 250W it would be very very close

you would lose the headroom to overclock, but come on... how much power does an 8350 use at 4.8 ghz. If it isn't 250W it would be very very close

Steamroller comes with a 28nm process node shrink. With that you can add 2 more modules to the existing 4 I think while keeping the power envelope modest.
