News AMD's gaming-optimized Ryzen 7 9800X3D rumored to cost $479 — $30 price bump over prior-gen Ryzen 7 7800X3D

This puts the Ryzen 7 9800X3D's MSRP at $479, or 6% higher than the 7800X3D — a marginal difference at best.
Only 6.7% more than the MSRP (7800X3D was selling for below $400 until the supply mysteriously dried up). Still, this is the privilege of the king.

Arrow Lake will suck by comparison, so I'm not surprised AMD is going to price the 9800X3D at a premium. Where else are you going to get best gaming CPU? Intel has become such a joke, it is no longer a sane option. Only the Intel ultra-fans, with fingers in their ears and yelling 'la la la la la', will buy Arrow Lake

250% more expensive than the 13600k and 50% more expensive than the 9700x for 10% better gaming performance, 15% maybe if you drop to 480p

Greed is good. I'd rather like to know the price of the 9950x 3d which is an actual good product.

Thanks Pat! Thanks Intel! AMD ironically becoming the Nvidia of CPUs. The 9950X3D looks like it’s going to be a $799 chip. I’m pretty sure too that the 9800X3D won’t be selling at MSRP for awhile as it’s the only sane choice for a gaming CPU this generation.

You don't have to be a "Early Adopter".

If you wait a year or year and a half, it'll drop in price.

They always inevitably drop in price.

So you don't have to buy it on launch day, just be patient.

um, wait.. havent you been claiming you will be getting an x3d chip when they come out ?
.

9950x 3d, I'm not touching the 8 core part, lol.
Intel being above and beyond and having less issues and actually is faster or similar to the X3D without exploding if you know what you are doing in ram optimisation and yet you look at buying 9950X3D…

Sounds reasonable

I never said half of the stuff you are saying I said. I'm not even sure that the 14900k is faster than the 7950x 3d in gaming when both are properly tuned. The 7800x 3d, sure, but the 7950x 3d is a different beast. I've already said - multiple times - that the 7950x 3d is (or rather, was) the best desktop chip at the time. I just don't like the power draw under light loads, I'd like to keep it low and it doesn't seem to be able to do that.
