I'd settle for any of AMD's cards to actually be selling at their MSRP. I really wanted to buy a 270x. This post just makes me think: how about Nvidia giving us a dual 750ti with a 256-bit bus? Oh lawdy, that would be fun and efficient.

Unfortunately prices will be driven through the roof by morons who got to the bitcoin mining party late and still want to make money. One thing I've wondered is does the increased cost get passed to AMD or is it all just retailers gouging and pocketing it all themselves?

It's all on the retailer's end. AMD, and even XFX, Saphire, etc don't really get any extra off of it. Newegg and the like are just having a field day, though as stated, prices are starting to come back down.

The key word is: driver

If you can at least match green team with your Crossfire/dual graphic support across wide range of games in timely fashion, and smooth frame rates, then people will rave about it and buy more of your stuff and save yourself, otherwise save your marketing gimick.

I'm gonna be honest here - I really don't think you need this GPU, unless you're gaming at 4k or multi monitor eyefinity. Xfire BF4 just runs clunkier with 2 gpus at 1080p.

I was hoping prices would come down a bit since in my area there is now stock in stores and AMD is not perpetually backordered, but to my amazement, even though they have small stock in, they have bumped up the prices of AMD video cards. I don't get it...I'm holding my breath waiting for prices to drop, but I am turning blue.

Not really. Two single R9 290X's would still be better for mining than this due to the extra heat, I assume.

Isn't the bit coin mining over with? The virtual currency crashed in a ball of flames couple weeks ago. Anyway they need to start with a smaller manufacturing process to even make this possible say 20 nm then really make a good cooling solution or allow the vendors to deal with heat issue. Interesting none the less
