Bulldozer sucked, so they are skipping it in their APUs and moving to Piledriver it seems. I am betting those FX chips should have been named Phenom III, they wont live up to the old branding.

Wow.. way to many codenames, I definitely got lost reading that article. But at least with AMD's pace I'll have a good 4 - 5 years to figure out which one comes after bulldozer.

[citation][nom]iam2thecrowe[/nom]sounds interesting, AMD have some kick ass codenames. The codename of their next CPU should be "Delayed"[/citation]
... and dream on till it becomes reality...

For all the haters out there, you had better hope Bulldozer gives Intel a proverbial run for its money, otherwise your going to see the chips get even more insanely priced than they are now.

If bulldozer sucks I can see the K series going the way of the Dodo bird and Intel going back to the Extreme series chips. Yay $999 for the same silicon that retails for $200, just the cheap one has limits placed on it. I do not miss those days.

youguysmad? You should just stay away from PCs as a whole. Every CPU manufacturer has delays. The Pentium 4s were delayed due to a glitch. The Sandy Bridge Macbooks were delayed. SB even had a rocky start. Do some research before commenting. BD was delayed for a few months and it's the end of the world for most of you. You people only account for a small margin of the market. Most companies aim at the larger market of buyers. The market doesn't revolve around you guys (and this is coming from someone who has 3 Intel computers and 1 AMD).

Anyway, I have high hopes for Trinity. Llano started out very well, and hopefully Trinity as well.

Insanely priced? Are you kidding me? Today's current Intel Pentiums absolutely trounce last gen CPUs and for less than £100. The Q6600 was a legendary chip for performance and price point, but apart from a few weeks, wasn't the standard price around the £150 mark until supplies started running low? Isn't that about the same price as the 1156 i5 760 AND the i5 2500K which are both astounding performers.

When was the last time AMD actually had on the market, a high end CPU to compete? Bulldozer was supposed to be that chip and it is already a gen behind and looking at Intel about to release a further update...

Haters? I think it is justified complaints and disappointed.

Intel's prices are definitely not insanely priced like you said. Although, I question their Core2Quads prices, but that's only because (from what I as told)of limited supply (not manufactured anymore). The i5 2500K is one of the best bang for you buck CPU on the market. The last time really held the market was back in in I believe 2004, maybe up to 2006 at most (a little hazy on this one). After that Intel held the market. Technically AMD isn't behind. Sure Intel has Ivy, but in terms of current CPUs on the market, AMD is playing catch-up ATM. Ivy is only a 20% boost in performance over SB, which, if you have a high-end Intel CPU, is worth passing off.

I'm interested in what the graphic horse power will be like in the portables, and tablets. We all know that Intel beats AMD at cpu power, however, we also know that Intel has nothing to compete against AMD's graphic horse power.

I can see companies biting the bullet for 20% cpu performance if it means they get 50-80% GPU performance. right now the GPU is a bigger bottle neck in most cases then the CPU.

So you people can laugh at AMD for not having caught up with Intel on the CPU front, I'll just laugh back because Intel never even came close to what Green or Red pumps out for high end.

You are right. Because paying $220 for a 2500K that overclocks like crazy is just insane.

/sarcasm

Currently Intel has great prices and thats without any major competition from AMD. BD looks interesting but from what has bene gathered, nothing special. If the pricing rumors are true, it wont give Intel a run for their money, just keep the status quo as it is.

Honestly we have nothing on BD. No release date, nothing. Yet we know SB-E will be out in November, Ivy Bridge will be out in March 2012 and Haswell will be out in Q1 2013. We have more info on Haswell, more than a year out, than we do on BD.

And more importantly we can believe haswell WILL come out lol

Glad AMD got their priorities straight finally.

They are hitting the money making markets first, and not trying to use all their resources to take on Intel in the high end desktop market. That just didn't make sense.

Good job AMD for shipping 15million APU's in the 2nd quarter alone.
