I'm stuck in England and they like to rip us off big time. You pay say $160 for a geforce2 gts and we pay at least £200, it sucks, not that I am jealous or selfish. Please name me a 'Good' on-line american company who'll supply me with computer parts at a good saving, so I can stick my finger up to both the rip-off companies and Tony (I'm out of touch with everybody, why are you all looking at me like that) Blair.

Thanks.
and Happy Christmas.

Nice try Ray!

Unfortunately, I think that u will have to pay high shipping costs and u may get clobbered for tax as well.

Coupled with return costs for any problems, u will not get ne savings.

I agree though.UK does suck for prices.I think that it equates to £ for $ which at 1/1.5 is a lot. A 1 gig T-Bird for $170 is a steal.

I goto the states quite often but am worried about ne airport x-rays that could damage parts. Is this true?

In the UK aria seems to be quite cheap (128m pc 133 £45)

X-Rays won't hurt your stuff. Taking it with you through the metal detector might though. So, if you DO buy something and bring it back with you, you are best to put it through the x-ray.

As for shipping, I would reccomend buying from a canadian company. The prices are actually sometimes better than the states, when you take the exchange rate into the equation. Canada also seems to do more trade with Enland per capita, so you could probably get better shipping rates. And considering the pound is worth over 2 canadian dollars, well you could get PC133 memory for about 35 pounds.

I wouldn't worry too much about cards and memory, but I would be a little worried passing harddrives through an x-ray, since they are magnetic media...Its a real shame. The only bargains are to be had by auction, and then not always. Have you noticed those companies who 'start' the auction at the recommended retail price...greedy pigs. finding canadian hardware sites could be a little awkward , as with the internet...all roads seem to lead to the USA.
