American Megatrends on Boot (CPU MHz)

After booting my PC goes to the American Megatrends bios screen: cpu i7-4790 frequency 3600Mhz (Target frequency 4000Mhz)
Do I need to increase the frequency? It boots fine after I exit the bios though, and it only started recently.

I have an Asus maximus vii ranger Mobo. Sry, I'm not sure where to change the frequency on the bios, I only see voltage and stuff.

The CPU has a base frequency of 3600 MHz, which is what you're seeing in BIOS. It can go up to 4000 MHz in certain situations. It is also doubtful you could change the frequency as the model you have is a locked processor which prohibits overclocking.

Basically, there's nothing to be concerned with.

if you monitor task manager/perfomrance, and run a quick Windows Defender scan, you should see the clock speed ramp up to near max for the 20-40 seconds it takes to do the quick scan...
