Hey, first of all, wanted to thank you all for always helping me when I had trouble building up my PC and installing stuff. Been reading from the shadows and always getting answers, but now I have a weird question.
Built my PC five months ago, bit of an advanced rig for gaming (i5 4690, gtx 970, 16gb). My question goes about motherboard audio or my graphics card audio. I use two monitors: one for gaming (hdmi output) and one second monitor for... I still don't have a clear reason as to use this monitor but it's VGA output. It's LCD and works as an audio output for my system cause I'm too lazy to get speakers. Yes, it can play audio.
I've been playing with the audio outputs. My motherboard is b85 pro gamer (asus) and has 8-channel high definition audio. I've been using that for months only using a 3.5mm audio connector to the Line-In jack. As for September I've tried to plug the 3.5mm to my HDMI monitor to use the graphics card audio. It did work but I don't know if it's going to make a difference or not.
So far, I've only noticed that my graphics card audio is louder. It is a GTX 970, latest nvidia drivers. Also, some audio freezing when opening fullscreen games in Steam or Battlenet. Should I keep on using my motherboard audio or should I stick with my graphic card audio? Thanks for the help as always.
