Ok I'm buying a Laptop worth between $500-$700. I don't plan to use it as a full on gaming laptop but I would like to be able to play some games like payday 2 with a decent frame rate. I found a cheap laptop today with these specs:

What I am concerned about is the GPU. I have heard that intel HD 4000 is crap for gaming but on the other hand it has a nvidia GeForce gt 740m 2gb which is pretty decent. Also what is the CPU like? I'm guessing it is decent because it's is i5? I dunno I'm dumb with PC specs, please advise me!!

Solution
That should be alright for gaming at the laptop resolution of 1366x768, the i5 is a hyperthreaded dual core which is pretty decent and the 740m is pretty good for that resolution as well.

For these newer games though, medium settings at that resolution should be very manageable
