I wonder if there is such a list, where you compare the performance of older overclocked CPUs to new non-overclocked CPUs.
That's because not everyone can afford the latest CPUs (including me), but can overclock CPUs (And there are plenty of guides out there for many CPUs)
Do you think that some old CPUs can compete today? For example the i5-2500k, I remember when it came out it was all over the internet. One of the best performance/cost ratio. So maybe the i5-2500K overclocked can be compared to a new non-overclocked Ryzen for example?
And I think many love to tweak stuff (it's fun)

Do you have any experience on any CPU and can tell me about it? I am really thinking about getting an i5-2500k now 😀, but maybe there is an even better choice today

I still use 3210m laptop. If you don't care about games, I can assure you, it's still not so bad.
If you can, ryzen3 1200/1600 is nice one you should be able to grab at really incredible deals. (I am pointing out two best bang for buck I've seen on new parts). but if you aim for anything older, I would suggest 4'th-7'th gen INTEL or 1'rs gen ryzen AMD as a lot of people sold those recently, IF you go for used, they should be really cheap.

and second thing IF you care about games AMD apu RYZEN 3400g can be build for $400. (300$ NEW with ryzen 3200g

for a complete intel 970k I've seen similar price (around here). and performance/power usage/support wise, its years ahead.

Alright, how about I make a "Bang for your buck" thread instead where people will tell their experience with older CPU that their using now and what are they using them for? For example if you use 4670k let us know what games you play or what softwares you use and is it good?
Because you can get a 4670k for 70$ now.. Maybe a 150$ be a very good one in todays terms
