Hi guys. I have found an old "gaming" pc in my working room. It has pentium e2180 and Geforce 9600GT. I play WoT , ETS2 , Mafia 2 , NFS Shift , Crysis 2 on medium/high details on 40+ fps , but im thinking about ugrading my CPU. Im low budget , so i would like to have Intel C2D E8600: https://pc.bazos.sk/inzerat/81769512/Intel-C2D-E8600E8500E6700-pre-LGA-775.php for 18 Euro.
Will it be compatibile ? Can i use stock cooling from my old pentium ? :D

My MB: http://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/ConRoe1333-GLAN/index.asp
My VGA: 450W

Thx guys for help

Solution
You cannot use E8600, but you can use E8500 (revision C0).

Here is a list of supported CPUs for that board:

Note that E8500 needs the latest BIOS to work. You will first need to upgrade the BIOS to version P1.50, with your current CPU. Otherwise the new CPU won't work.

As for the cooling, you could probably use the stock one from your old CPU (it will fit), but it is safer to use the box cooler from E8500 CPU, they get hotter for sure.
