Hi all,

I've got a Toshiba Satellite U920T that came pre-installed with Windows 8. It was later upgraded to Windows 10. I wanted to wipe it so that my wife can use it as I now have a new notebook.

After having a myriad of issues with Windows reset, I decided to make a bootable usb. Successfully booted using that. Windows installer wouldn't let me install windows on the partitions that were on there, so I deleted them and attempted to create a new one, which didn't work.

Upon re-starting though, I now get the "An operating system wasn't found" screen, and it's not booting from the usb I have plugged in (which works, as I had booted from it before when trying to install windows on the partitions it didn't let me do) despite the boot load order being set up for it to do that.

So now I'm stuck. Any ideas?

Solution
Hey there, Rhodz1.

Try using a different USB flash drive with a different port. You should also try creating a new bootable media by following this tutorial and see if the same thing happens: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15088/windows-create-installation-media.

You could also try resetting or updating your BIOS, to see if that fixes things up.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how it goes.
