I have an Asus M5A78L-M LX PLUS mobo, 8 Gb(1600MHz) Ripjaw, 600W corsair, an Amd FX 6300 and I'm planning to buy the nvidia gtx 950 and I'm wondering to now if my mobo will support it

yes it has a pci x 16 slot however its only a 2.0 which is ok for the card like 950 i wouldnt go beyond a 960 however i would suggest not to get any atm until pascal and polaris comes out there are quite a big bridge gap in terms of performance of the new cards so id wait if you can

Not really true here look at this 2.0 vs 3.0 vs X16 vs X8 It's never to late to broaden your horizon.

Lane speed performance won't be an issue , in some cases PCIE 2.0 will be equal or outperform a PCIE 3.0 slot.

EVEN a 970 or 980ti won't be hurt.

still pretty pointless throwing money down the toilet though since im betting the gtx 950 and 750 ti will be left in the dark when there replacements come out more energy efficient and probly double the performance
