An unexpected error (401866816} occurred at line 1773 in d:\xpsp\base\boot\setup

Hello, I am installing windows xp on a newly formatted hard disk and this error message: an unexpected error (401866816} occurred at line 1773 in d:\xpsp\base\boot\setup\arcdisp.c. keeps on showing up the messages "windows setup". What is wrong?

That error is normally caused by a faulty memory module. If you have more than one try taking all but one out. If it still fails, substitute one of the other modules. If it still fails then I would suggest the problem lies elsewhere - it's not very likely that two modules have failed at the same time.

You could also try running a memory testing program, such as MemTest.
