An unexpected performence of my 9800gt graphics card

I own a pc having the following config :

2.7GHZ intel e5400 dual core processor
2gb ddr2 ram
Nvidia (reference model) 9800gt 512mb graphics
500gb sata 2 hdd
500w psu
win 7 32bit o/s

when it comes to playing modern games like nfs most wanted (2012),saints row 3,gta 4
I can experience a noticeable lag due to inadequate fps readings around 15-20
As i suppose my video card performs badly displaying weird behavior as opposed to the excellent performance of it i have seen on youtube. what is wrong with my rig ?.Is my video card fast enough to play modern games like the ones mentioned above? Please reply me if anyone can figure out whats going on .

If you are playing those Games at High settings then I am sure that 9800GT is under-powered for those Games . Try Reducing the Graphics Setting then you will see a Performance Increase .

It's a older get 512mb card is will not preform very well in any newer games. Heck a sli pair of gtx 260's has issues with newer games.

Sure , It will Help 100% in Increasing the Performance but Upgrade your GPU too
