An Unfortunate Bug for Dual Monitor Users

I got my computer with a Windows 7 operating system, and I was fortunate enough to be part of the release day wave for Windows 10 (I was the only person in my family to get it) but as expected there are a few bugs that I've had to suffer through. This being the most annoying

Games take forever to minimize: I run a dual monitor setup powered by an EVGA GTX 750 Superclocked Graphics card. I like to keep Skype open on my second monitor. So I have to wait for the game to hide itself before I can interact with that window. With Windows 7, it took at max 2 seconds. Now? I'm lucky to get 10 seconds. (Sometimes this never happens, and I'm forced to power down) Whether I use the windows button or click on something in Skype. (For some reason, GTA IV doesn't seem to have this issue, but that is the only exception so far)

I'm led to believe this is either a bug or inefficiency of Windows 10 considering that Windows 7 accomplished this very quickly. (And Windows 10 is supposedly built for speed) I personally feel that I shouldn't have to minimize a game to interact with my second monitor in the first place. (If I change the settings in Civ 5 to not bind my mouse to the screen I can get around the issue.)

If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave a reply.

Solution
Don't have any issues minimizing full screen games on mine, but I did a clean install after the upgrade to avoid potential issues from leftover files. Might be something you may want to look into, but that's the only suggestion I have in terms of a fix.

But anyway, for what it's worth, that's is how full screen games have always been. "Full" screen naturally implies that it uses all available screen space, even if resolution restrictions keep it on a single screen. Borderless Windowed modes are my preferred way to get around this (normal Windowed modes are clunky and don't fit correctly because of borders). There's also this piece of software that can force games into Borderless Windowed, though I haven't tried it...

Solution
If you run the game Windowed instead of full screen you can switch monitors and apps quickly. Minimize, Alt+Tab, and even loosing mouse focus are events that the programmer needs to deal with in their program. It is likely that the games will need to be patched to correct that issue.
