i know my vga is analog and my hdmi on the tv is digital.

USB is digital. 3.5mm jack headphone/mic are analog. Based on the description, that device has built in analog-to-digital and digital-to-analog converters for converting between headphone/mic and USB.

Edit: do you mean you want to connect your webcam directly to your TV, without a computer? What kind of webcam do you have?

yeah i did. i dont know the brand or anything anymore. but its a circular camera piece on a flexible goose neck neck. with a small round base so it sits on the desk. and the mic part is attached under the camera under neith in front of the neck part. and the mic has a gooseneck bendable piece with the mic end on the end of the gooseneck

Nope I'm afraid not. There are many different ways to represent both analog and digital signals and they are only compatible if all devices understand the same signals.

The short version is that Analog vs digital really only refers to the fact that digital signals are a collection of discreet values and analog are infinitely variable (technically)

Nope. Maybe one or two models that work with a specific webcam model but on the whole nope.

well someone afew days ago on this site sayd "vga is analog and rgb-pc is digital and you cant get sound on your tv from the vga of your pc" but i found a "vga + usb to hdmi" that works 100%. so ....

Well ya in this case your VGA is supplying video the USB is supplying sound and there will be a chip inside that adapter that then converts and combines both signal's into an HDMI signal.

im getting myself way off the subject here.

what i wanted was just to see my webcam chat over the isp and right into my tv. i cant afford those new lcd TVs that cost 700 buxks and have the builtin skype and the camera thats in the top o the tv.

So you want to do internet video calling (e.g. skype) and see the other person's video on your TV, without using your computer? That's not going to work. Even if you manage to get your webcam hooked up to your TV, all that's going to do is let you view your own video on the TV; you won't be able to make any calls.

You either need to use your computer hooked up to your TV, get a smart TV, or get some sort of streaming box/device to connect to your TV that you can run Skype on. For instance, if you got something like an Intel Compute Stick, plugged it into your TV, and then plugged your webcam into the stick, you should be able to run skype on it and make calls.
