I just bought a Samsung smart TV and I'd like to connect my old home cinema to it. Unfortunately the TV doesn't have an analog audio out.

This is from the audio system:

These are the TV connnections:

Is it at all possible to hook this up?

According to the home cinema's manual there's an optical port, but I don't really know how that works and which type of cable it needs...

example only not an endorsement shop around
its called a TOSLINK cable

it will connect to the top picture the re are two optical ports in the top left corner of the picture, pick one and connect to eht port with the leds around it in the bottom picture (between the USB and the HDMI)

the cable is basically a glass tube, light is the signal instead of electricity in a copper wire. the audio is converted to light pulses and back.
