Analog TV Tuner Card

I am looking to run my old game consoles through my PC. I need to use the composite cables (Red/White/Yellow) but my monitor only has DVI/HDMI/VGA input. A converter box is very expensive.

I read that an analog TV tuner would do the trick. Does anybody have experience with this?

I have a Leadtek 2000XP http://www.neoseeker.com/Articles/Hardware/Reviews/winfast2kexpert/2.html .
Using the A/V with a digital decoder so yes, it would work.
The Winfast software is not very performant though. And no driver for Windows 8 (the Win7 would work in compatibility mode, but not as it should).
