I went to Gamefaqs for this information, but the gamescript I found
there didn't seem to have it exactly right.

I'm hoping that someone can either confirm that the below plot questions
are either true, or false and can provide a sequence of events that are
a reproducable counter-example.

They involve the plot/cutscene variables in the opening Mansion scene
for the Jill scenario.
=======================
(1) Intro - Barry, Jill, Wesker enter mansion; Barry & Jill end up in
Dining room
Prereqs: None; always seen

(2) Barry Finds The Blood
Prereqs: None; always seen

(3) Jill Discovers Zombie feeding on Joseph
Prereqs: Player has not seen (8)

(4) Jill approaches Barry, and original zombie comes through door to attack
Prereqs: Player has seen (3), regardless of whether or not she kills zombie

(5) Wesker tells Jill to investigate gunfire; she returns to dining room
Prereqs: Player has not seen (3) and tries to enter entry hall

(6) Barry asks Jill if she has lost courage
Prereqs: Player has seen (5) and tries to enter entry hall

(7) Door to EntryHall from Dining Room won't open - says there is more
to investigate
Prereqs: Player has seen (6) and tries to enter entry hall

(8) Zombie enters Dining Room and accosts Jill near grandfather clock
Prereqs: Player has seen (2) and(6) and approaches garndfather clock
without having seen (4)

Near as I can remember these are all correct, except #8, I believe you can
get the zombie to attack at the grandfather clock without seeing #6, but am
not absolutely certain, as my original RE1 PSX game had a bug in it, if I
went to Barry after finding the zombie feeding on Joseph, the game would
lock up, so I discovered the grandfather clock scene by accident, and can't
remember if I had to try the entrance hall bit first.

The stuff below is as I have played the game... So about 80% correct I would
guess.

True, if you play Jill's storyline...

Also true...

Prequisite is that she doesn't exit the door back to Wesker I think. I think
if you exit once, then go to the body, the zombie is walking around and you
don't see the feeding.

Wrong, if she kills the zombie I swear he doesn't come through the door. I
think Barry says "let's report this to Wesker" and you go back into the main
hall.

Prequisite is the player turs back around and goes through door, back into
the lobby, without going through the opposite door.
I think the opposite door automatically set's off a trigger (which is around
the clock) so if you go through the door and come back into the dining room,
then try to move past the clock the zombie enters. Also I think maybe
talking to Barry might stop you going back into the main hall.

>

Yup. After you go to see Wesker, if you try again, you get "Have you lost
courage already!?"

>

Don't think so... I think this is after you talk to Barry... I think you
just continually get "you've lost courage already?" after going to see
Wesker.

Prequisites are either:
Jill has *gone through* (meaning pressed X on) door back to see Wesker
twice, then approaches the clock.
Jill has gone through the opposite door and come back through (then gone
past the clock).
Or Jill has seen the zombie eating, then come back through (I think that the
zombie comes through right after Jill comes through).

I can't be certain, but I think that same character-model zombie *does*
still come through the door.

In the REmake, you also get the groan-and-door-slam mini CGV whilst
trying to exit the dining room. For any newbies wondering why it's to
still state that zombies (And Hunters) can open doors. You don't get a
case of this for about another ten minutes play, and it doesn't state
this in the manual either.

Roll on RE4 😱)
