Hey guy's,

I was at my local flea market and came across the "android media box". No one was there to explain how it works ( on break i guess lol ) but the box was advertising over 250 free HD channels for free and all you need to do is stream is from your computer.

I was wondering if this box or is there anything out there like this that could do this ?

No there is no device that will legally get you fox, nbc, fx, usa, hbo, espn etc with no monthly subscription cost.

The most cost effective streaming service for subscription cable channels is slingbox which is $20 a month.

Most all major TV networks are part of corporate groups that also own the major cable companies (comcast, tw, etc). They only want you to have internet access to their TV channel networks if you have a cable subscription as well.
Its their way of trying to prevent people from cord cutting.
It is basically the same circuitry as a tablet minus the screen with android on it (likely of very low quality) that comes pre-loaded with streaming apps. You can put any of those apps on any other android device.

Now that 250 HD channels sounds great, but it is not 250 channels of ESPN, ABC, FOX, Discovery, or likely even any channel that you have ever heard of, likely that at least 150 channels wont even be in the USA (hard to say how many will be in English). It is just a "channel" that is in HD resolution that has streaming content over the internet.

So in short, no you cant buy a magic box out of a van or flea market for $50 that is the exact same as a $100 a month tv subscription.

Yahh that's what I figured but thought I ask ! Is there any kind of device out their that does do what I was asking ?? even if I had to pay $250 ??
