Question android back up

I backed up wifes android the back up failed but I saved it on a hard drive but its in BAK format I moved it to cell but it wont read it! gonna kill me! any help?

What application did you use to make the backup?

I don't remember was pretty late not even sure how it ended up on hd she has had big problems with her cell..not sure at all..

Figured it out pit everything in zip file then open it. Done
