Android can't join iPhone group chats

I have an android and i can't join group chats with my friends. they all have iphones and i was added in late. they added about 8 people before me and now when i try to get added my contact shows up in red and i can't join. Starting a new message on another app or another group chat is too much of a hassle so i need a fix that will let me join their current group chat. Please help?

Doubt that there is an available fix on your part alone.

What exactly does "when i try to get added my contact shows up in red" mean?

Is there some limit "X" on the group size and you are "X+1"?

May or may not be a function of Android vs iPhone....

Who among your friends "manages" (for lack of a better word) the group chat?

He (or she) may or may not be able to increase the group size to include you.

No the chat isnt full because he can add more iphone users. when he tries to add me, it shows the loading icon and then my contact shows up in red text color
