Android Hard Reset

Hi,
So recently my Redmi Note 3 arrived and boy did i fall in love. Now heres the problem, a few days ago the play store stopped working- i tried every single fix but to no avail, also my snapchat was stuck on "verifying device". Im ok with resetting it with factory settings but...i forgot my password, luckily i have my fingerprint so i can still go through my phone but i cannot go into the settings and factory reset the phone, ive tried doing the manual way-holding the power button and volume up but this takes me to a screen in which it tells me to plug my phone in even though its always in, so there goes my second option. So now..does anyone know how i could factory reset it or bypassing my password. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Bypassing the password is not easy, you've got a problem of your operating system. I recommend to format your android, if it is under warranty bring it where you buy it. But if not bring it in a service center experts of that problem.
