Android Kitkat unable to connect to Wi-fi router

I have an Android Kitkat phone. When I turn on the wifi on my phone it is showing the wifi router that I want to connect to with the status - Saved and secured with WEP but I am unable to access the internet via the router. However I succeeded when I connected to a phone with internet via wifi.

delete the saved profile from your phone and then reconnect to your router again. You will need to know the WEP password again.

Done.But it says the same - Saved,secured with WEP. When I click on connect the status does not show connected.
