Android Lollipop Issue

I apologize if this is the incorrect forum (please advise if this should be somewhere else). I have an HTC One M8 with Android Lollipop. For some reason, starting this morning, several apps refused to open. Some others would open but would crash if I executed something inside of them. Other apps work fine. I tried to uninstall and reinstall the affected apps but it didn't work. Does anyone know what else I can do to troubleshoot? I didn't do anything out of the ordinary to initiate this. Did you try manually rebooting the phone?

I would try with factory reset. But don't hold me on word, I just know that helped me with my s5. I had familiar issues. I would recommend backing up your files. Good luck!

Well...I actually found out the cause. Apparently Google pushed an update to Android Web View and it is causing lots of phones to have this issue. Disabling it doesn't work, but if you choose to "uninstall updates" everything seems to work again. Hopefully this will help someone else.
