Android TV Box as a multi modern platform?

So I haven't had a real computer since my ex-wife ruined mine and the battery went bad fried the motherboard etc and I've been exploring the possibilities of a multi-platform throw together rig as I don't want to put too much into my next rig and I want this one to last more than 6+ years and I needed the communities constructive criticism but would a jailbroken android tv box serve this need and if not how would I improve this Idea?

The keyboard/mouse may or may not be supported. And you may or may not be able to root that unit. If you have done research and determined that unit has a rooting procedure, then you might get what you want. I have had a couple of those type devices and have generally been disappointed.

Just checked into this model just became compatible with kingoroot and towlroot by geohot and what keyboard would you recommend cause another thing I thought of was a straight usb mech gaming keyboard and gaming mouse like these.

the firmware is already built in any wired peripheral so compatibility shouldn't be a problem but in terms of a cooling fan I went with a basic 120mm usb generic cooling fan

if I needed or wanted windows I could always emulate and on the plus side I have the entire google playstore at my disposal and aptoids alyways got the good stuff gplay wont allow

Apps in the play store can be very hardware specific. An app may function fine on a phone but may function poorly on that media player. The Netflix app is a great example of that. Wired peripherals may work better than wireless. But keyboard/mouse support in android is OK, but not great.
As a general computer I wouldn't pick an Android media player.

I see what you mean functionality would be poor, what would you suggest for a general computer that had anywheres from 4-8 gb ram and a mini case/tower design because I am also looking for portability as I travel alot back and forth from my future inlaws and a laptop i learned doesn't hold up easy

You could build a fanless Windows box. Start with a motherboard like this -- https://www.asrock.com/MB/Intel/J5005-ITX/index.asp It has an Intel CPU and supports 8GB RAM. It will run standard Windows. Look at articles for building a home theater PC (HTPC).
