Anker USB 3.0 Slim Hub will not work

Just purchased the Anker usb 3.0 slim hub. Plugged it into the motherboard usb port, (routed an extension cable under the desk to the hub) and nothing is happening. I've tried plugging in a flash drive but to no avail. Is there something I'm doing wrong? Help would be greatly appreciated!

Use it without the extension, see if it works then. If it a powered hub, plug in the power.

Just tried what you suggested, it works without the extension cable. It isn't a powered hub, so I don't have anything to plug it into. However, I did try the extension cable with a front usb 3 port on my pc and it worked. Also, the cable underneath is at the maximum stretching limit when I plug in the hub underneath my desk. What do you think the problem could be?

The problem is the extension cable. Use it with the ports that work or try a shorter one.
