The first TADS 2 and 3 interpreter to run natively on OS X and use Aqua
antialiased fonts. I wanted a TADS interpreter capable of this in time for
the IFComp2004 judging period, and this seemed to be the quickest way to get
one working.
If other OS X users are interested in trying it out, you can download it
from:
http://www.progsoc.org/~drbatter/qtads/aQuaTads.dmg
(Approximately 3.7 MB download)
It's simply an OS X binary of Nikos Chantziaras' QTads interpreter, with an
updated TADS 3 engine to make the two TADS 3 games entered in this year's
comp playable. The QT library is statically linked into it (hence the huge
file size), so it should work on most Mac OS X systems without the need to
install any extra software. But I haven't tested it anywhere else but my
Mac, so reports from other OS X users would be appreciated. I'll upload to
the if archive and/or Nikos' QTads page if it seems to work for everyone.
