Is it just me or is this link not functioning?

Yup. That there is certainly an abuse. Impressive, I guess, in a
sort of scary pointless way.

Possibly.

Anyway, I've now uploaded it to ifarchive.org. It'll be in the
unprocessed directory at the moment, but will probably end up in
/games/tads.

Hmm... ASCII-Fractals. Did you use code from the AA lib? I used that one
to play Quake in full 3D but in text mode... 🙂

Youch... I am officially an idiot.

The TADS VM collapses whitespace. This wasn't a problem when I was
working with videos that weren't bright enough to involve any
whitespace, but I ended up using one that did and hence... the resulting
mess (well... half mess...)

So, anyway: videobar_1.1.zip is now uploaded to ifarchive (currently in
unprocessed, will move to /games/tads/ and is also at:
http://www.geocities.com/iamasinneralso/videobar_1.1.zip

Thanks.

Um. It wasn't actually meant to look like fractals (see version 1.1 for
how it should look). Although the idea of TADS fractals is strangely
appealing... (next year's abuse possibly...)

I used my own ascii-art library, which I wrote a few years ago. I think
I released an early version of it, which fortunately will have been
buried by the shifting sands of the internet by now.

Yes, impressive, and a bit scary, too.

I'd like to see it incorporated into a real game. I think...

No problem. Actually I think the warping whitespace adds an interesting
psychedelic effect -- hang onto that code, someone may have a use for it.
:)

Hey, yeah, I also thought that was deliberate. Oh well.

James did, however, misspell his last name 🙂
