While I think all of us in the enthusiast community are cautiously optimistic for Ryzen, AMD's upcoming architecture is far from a sure thing. If it is successful it will certainly shake up the CPU market, but how that will unfold is very much up in the air. Given that, and the fact that we plan on throwing one of these Best PC Builds contests roughly every quarter this year, it would be a missed opportunity to delay the Best PC Builds for a month, failing to provide resources for builders who aren't waiting for yzen and building now.

If anything comparing this quarter to next quarter (which will probably feature Ryzen heavy builds) will be a good way to figure out just how much performance for price gain has been made.

Once we get the results will any of this even be relevant? AMD has quite a bit of new releases on the horyzen than will really shake these builds up.

The results will be even more relevant and serve as a baseline for expectations in comparison to Ryzen builds.
