[SOLVED] Annoying disc problem with the PS2 Slim

Hello,
I'm having some trouble with my PS2 Slim lately. Whenever I insert a disc, the console wouldn't be able to read it or just pop-up then once played, it will start returning to the main screen. (look down below for the three main problems) But this problem never occurred before recently (three days ago the problem never occurred) but now it's ignoring the disc I insert. The console is of course five years old but can still work with any game (Used to). I don't really know if it's the lens, but I'm just wanting to know if anyone can help.

The problems that I encounter are:

Problem 1 - The game wont be read or wont show up on-screen (Common)

Problem 2 - Error reading the disc will show up on-screen (Uncommon)

Problem 3 - The game will show up on-screen, but once played then it will return to the main screen (Quite Common as with Problem 1)

Basic Info about the discs:
The disc that I tried to insert (with some others) are silver discs (Ones with the silver on the back)

Seems like you need a new disk player for it, or replace the system with a working one, which is probably very cheap.

Did you already try cleaning the pickup heads with a q-tip or something? Test it on it's side and flat to see if that makes a difference?
