Hello guys, I've been getting some problems with AMD Fx processors, I had an AMD Fx 4350 and yesterday I changed it to an AMD Fx 8350, in both I got problems with my FPS on games like FSX, World of Tanks etc...

The FPS goes from 25-30 to 5 for few seconds on FSX, and from 60 to 15-20 in World of Tanks...

Specs:
AMD Fx 8350
ASUS M5A78L-M LX3
GTX 750 ti
8GB Corsair Vengeance
450watts power supply that came with my Thermaltake v2 plus case.

I havent overclocked it, and I wont do it, how can I fix this?

Regards

IM not sure what your plan was going from a 4350 to the 8350 - you gained 4 cores but at a slightly slower speed
both fsx & world of tanks are majorly single threaded so an 8350 would in essence perform worse. even if it was running properly.
Im fairly certain its throttling & short of dropping into bios & disabling 2 of the cores (essentially making it a 6350) there's little you can do apart from change the motherboard or send the cpu back.

as barto says youre crossing architectures there.

all the piledrivers are based on exactly the same architecture therefore clock speed performance is directly comparable.
the 8350 has 190% of the performance on the 4350 IF you're using all the cores - because it has a slightly lower clockspeed & because a pair of cores share certain resources - on the 4350 a core is a core - it has no sharing to do at all
on games & apps that use 4 cores or less the 8350 is actually slightly weaker

I think that we're leaving a bit the topic eh...

I readed somewhere that AMD Cool'n'Quiet might be affecting the performance on the games, also that a new/good cooler might stabilize the board and cpu cooling problem, so cpu shouldnt be more overstressed, just saying, what do you think about this?

Update: turning off Cool'n'quiet didnt work..
