[SOLVED] Annoying problem with RAM

I have 8gb installed on my laptop but windows lets me use sometimes 8gb, sometimes 4, and sometimes 2.
It changes every time I restart.
I tried cleaning my laptop and removing and readding the ram to the laptop.
I have no idea what to do?

It says there is 4gb of ram. Supposed to be 8.

Ok, have you tried inserting the ram into the other slot? (you should have two slots in your laptop)

If this does not help, i'd try another rammodule, borrow one if you have to

Also perform a CMOS reset

If that doesn't resolve your issue, i'd say your mobo is borked
