This has been going on for a while now, maybe 6 months and I'm finally tired enough to ask for help. I have a file server on my home LAN, specs are
MSI Z390-A Pro BIOS version 1.F0
Intel I5 8400
4x8Gb Crucial Ram CMK16GX4M2A2400C16 - Yes, it's 2 different kits, I know. It's worked flawlessly for several years and I don't believe it has any relation to the sleep issue. I've removed one kit at a time and the issue persists regardless.
FSP Hydro GE 650W HGE650M
No discreet GPU
Win 11 Pro 24H2
Crucial MX 500 - Boot drive
Samsung 970 EVO Plus 2Tb - storage drive

The problem: When I wake up the pc from sleep via WOL, it goes back to sleep in roughly 60 seconds. I can fix this by changing the settings of my power plan, which I keep on balanced, from whatever it is currently to any different timeout. For example, it's set to balanced and sleep in 1 hour. I wake it up, it goes right back to sleep. I wake it up again, change the time to sleep in 2 hours, save, and it's fine for 2 hours. Or vice versa. But I have to change the length of time until it sleeps every time or it just falls asleep in 60 seconds.

I've tried "Restore Defaults" but it didn't help. I've gone into advanced power settings and made sure the sleep timer is set correctly, and it is. SFC /Scannow shows no issues. Both drives show no errors or issues in SMART or their respective diagnostic software. No other issues at all with the machine.

Other and punting and doing a clean reinstall I'm not sure what else to try, but I'm wide open if anyone has a suggestion.

Thanks!

did You restart windows after setting it to 2hours?
are you logged in as admin?
eventually disable sleep and manually set it to sleep with a batch command file
I am logged in as admin. I don't restart Windows every time I change the sleep settings if that's what you mean, but since it started happening Windows has been restarted many times for one thing or another.
